COMPANY PROFILE:
This organization opened in 2019 and is a busy, multi-site outpatient infusion clinic, specializing in using ketamine to treat depression. Their providers follow guidelines from the American Psychiatric Association and have established a patient-centered approach to ensure safe and comfortable experiences for all patients. They are a complement to, not a replacement for, existing mental healthcare services. They view ketamine as one pillar in a larger care plan, and rely on continuous dialogue with each patient and their referring provider partners to define how ketamine plays a role in overall wellness. They currently boast a staff of 5 physicians and 6 infusion nurses, operating out of 5 convenient locations in New York City.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
While on-site, the new physician will oversee infusion nurses and work with the support of an office administrator and central staff members.
The overall duties of this position are to provide direct patient care, coordinate continuing care with referring mental health providers, and lead the operations of an exceptional clinical team.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- perform infusion appointments / infusion management
- in-office administration of ketamine
- IV placement, when needed
- clinical monitoring of patients
- patient education
- treatment plan management
- care coordination
- work with external referral partners
- oversight of infusion nurse(s)
Patients are scheduled for 90-minute appointments:
- 15 minutes, consultation
- 40 minutes, infusion
- 20 minutes, recovery
- 15 minutes, extra time
The practice is an all-digital office and uses the IntakeQ EHR.
Many patients are in emotionally vulnerable situations and nervous about infusion treatments. As such, the practice strives to provide an overall calming environment. It’s important that the bedside manner of the new physician emulates the desire to calm and soothe patients, while simultaneously reassuring patients of the safe, quality care they’re receiving.
This is a part-time / per diem position in which the new physician will be part of the float pool. The desired schedule is a commitment of two (2) evenings per week, but daytime shifts and a more informal per diem option may also be available.
The practice is also in need of a provider to cover maternity leave from December to February, should a provider desire temporary full-time hours during that time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- New York medical license
- comfort with cardio-respiratory monitoring, IV placement, and infusion management
- board certification or eligibility preferred, not required
HOW TO APPLY:
