COMPANY PROFILE:
This physician-owned private practice has been serving patients in Grand Island and the surrounding communities since 1999.  They operate a main office in Grand Island, as well as smaller satellite offices in the surrounding area to provide convenience for patients and flexibility for providers.  They currently have 2 ophthalmologists and a dedicated support staff, serving patients with full-scope ophthalmologic care.  They are excited to welcome a new physician to their family-like environment, where they have a strong emphasis on a healthy work/life balance and job satisfaction.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new ophthalmologist will join a busy private practice with an abundant patient base and strong local presence.  They operate out of a main office in Grand Island, but also have smaller satellite offices in neighboring communities, as well as participation in a nearby multi-specialty surgery center.

A full patient panel will be available immediately, due to the existing wait list and a strong referral base in local optometrists and medical doctors.

Overall duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- diagnose eye conditions
- treat eye conditions
- work with patients to prevent eye diseases and vision problems
- perform eye exams
- prescribe medications and corrective lenses

Among other surgeries and procedures, the office offers:

- advanced technology lens implants
- iStents
- goniotomy
- in-office eyelid surgery for upper and lower eyelid disorders
- lesion removal
- therapeutic Botox injections
- laser surgery for capsular opacity, diabetes, and glaucoma

The current ophthalmologists perform 600 to 800 surgeries per year and see a maximum of 40 patients per standard office day.  The actual number of patients per day varies based upon types of appointments scheduled.

Ophthalmologists are highly supported with a team that includes:

- technicians
- scribes
- nurses
- surgery schedulers

The practice has extensive resources and state-of-the-art equipment, including:

- IOLMaster 700
- Cirrus OCT

The new ophthalmologist will have the option to participate in hospital on-call for an annual stipend.  Call activity primarily happens during regular business hours and, on average, there are 7 to 10 calls per month.  It is very rare to have call activity on weekends or in the evening.  On-call is scheduled flexibility to ensure minimal impact to work/life balance.
