- Saturday, 9:00am to 1:00pm
- Sunday, closed
COMPENSATION:
- $27+ per Hour, based on experience
- 1099 Position

ORGANIZATION PROFILE:
UpBeat Music & Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2013 to help youth reach their fullest potential through music and the arts. UpBeat believes economics should not be a barrier to music education, and the organization and its donors provide many scholarships to underserved youth. Their teachers are a passionate group who make a difference in the lives of each and every student - they are not only outstanding musicians, but relate to young people and their unique needs. UpBeat currently employs 18 dedicated instructors and is excited to welcome more members to their team!
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new piano instructor will primarily focus on individual piano lessons. If candidates are interested in voice or other instruments, a small additional student base may be provided.
Overall duties include:
- teach 30-minute individual piano lessons
- teach 45-minute individual piano lessons
- teach in group settings when needed
- teach theory, technique, performance, and composition
- utilize exercises and games to motivate students
- conduct ongoing assessments of achievements
- help coordinate and support program activities
- contribute towards activities, curriculum design, student/parent feedback, etc.
The instructor will work with children ages 5 to young adults. All lessons are in-person at the UpBeat studio.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year teaching experience
- 4+ years music education and/or training
- college-level music education preferred; not required
- proficiency in piano performance
- strong understanding of music theory
- a passion for working with youth
