COMPENSATION:
- $140,000 to $145,000+ Base Salary, negotiable dependent upon experience
- Annual Bonus, 20% of Base Salary

COMPANY PROFILE:
Founded in 2010, this privately-owned-and-run company currently operates eight (8) senior living communities across four (4) states. Their facilities boast exceptional services in independent living, assisted living, memory care, couples care, rehabilitation services, and more. They are currently seeking a compassionate Director of Nursing for their Reston location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Nursing Services (DON) is responsible for overseeing nursing operations within the senior living community. The DON ensures high-quality resident care, staff supervision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures that support the health, safety, and well-being of residents.
The DON is supported by two (2) nurse managers and the community has approximately 90 residents between the assisted living facility and memory care unit.
The duties of the DON role include, but are not limited to:
- oversee daily operations of the nursing department
- ensure high-quality, resident-centered care
- recruit, hire, and train nursing staff
- supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
- participate in staff scheduling process
- monitor nurse staffing levels, supply inventories, etc. and adjust as needed
- oversee the quality and safety of the medication management program
- oversee care coordination
- oversee clinical documentation
- oversee infection prevention and control
- lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- ensure appropriateness of admission and readmissions
- address resident and family concerns, providing timely resolution
- investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints, ensuring protocols are followed
- participate in the annual business and budget planning for the nursing department
- lead weekly health maintenance meetings
- lead the skin integrity program, delegating weekly skin checks and wound rounds
- assist physicians and other directors with care planning and completion of assessments
- represent the organization in professional and community activities
- maintain positive relations with referral sources and service providers
- participate in professional development activities as required
The facility uses the Yardi electronic health record.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Virginia RN license
- BSN
- 3+ years nursing leadership experience in a similar environment
